Katie joined the N.C. Center for Health and Wellness in October 2016 as the NCCHW Administrative Assistant. Previously, she worked on UNC Asheville's campus as the Overlook Hall Interim Community Director. As a recent UNC Asheville graduate, Katie is passionate about on-campus initiatives and making connections to better the University, the Asheville community, and the greater state of North Carolina.
Over the course of the last four years, Katie has held close to a dozen different leadership positions on campus, including Freshman Colloquium Peer Mentor, Programming Assistant, Resident Assistant, and UNC Asheville German Club President and worked with many initiatives, including raising money for Syrian refugees in Germany and across Europe, Youth OUTright, and Manna Food Bank.
An artistic mind with a need to create, Katie has practiced pencil and charcoal sketching, water and acrylic painting, interior design, sculpting, paper-arts, costume-making, candle-making, and the culinary arts in her free time. She was an avid member in both the UNC Asheville University Singers Choir and the UNC Asheville Belly Dance club and graduated with a degree in Creative Writing. She dreams of being the Creative Director for a video game company, in the distant future.
