Sarah  Gietschier-Hartman (Missouri)

Sarah graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education, and received a Master of Science in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Emporia State University. She is an advocate for planned, progressive learning in #PhysEd, and her interests lie in standards based instruction, formative assessment, physical literacy, and outcomes-based learning. Sarah is a middle school physical educator in St. Louis, Missouri, where she lives with her husband and two sons. FYI- her last name rhymes with “itchier.”

 

Dr. Greg Dale (North Carolina)

A former physical education teacher and coach, is the Director of Sport Psychology and Leadership Program for Duke Athletics. In his sport psychology role, he provides consultations for individual athletes, coaches and  staff members.  In  addition,  Greg provides  team building services for athletic teams and other units within  the  athletic  department. In his leadership role, Greg provides leadership training for athletes, coaches and administrators within the department through various educational programs. He is also a professor of sport psychology and sport ethics in the Department of Health, Wellness and Physical Education.

 

Dr. Martha James-Hassan (Maryland)

Dr. James- Hassan is the nation’s leading researcher, teacher, and leader in the field of Academic Language use in physical education and health. With over 20 years of experience in urban education as a teacher and administrator, Martha maintains a very busy schedule presenting and consulting across the United States. Dr. James-Hassan is on the faculty at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.

 

Jo Bailey (Wisconsin)

Jo has been recognized as one of the leading physical education technophiles. This high school physical educator has taught in England, Hong Kong, and most recently at Everest Senior High in Wisconsin. As a technology maven, Jo is the consumate early-adopter of PE gadgets large and small. Jo is a National Board Certified Teacher, a Google Certified Teacher, and was the 2013 Midwest SHAPE America (formerly AHPERD) High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

 

 

Naomi Hartl (Oregon)

Naomi has a passion for physical education and all things techinfused. A member of PHYSEDagogy, Naomi graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and has taught physical education for four years in Canada.  Recently relocated to Oregon, she is the PE Development & Technology Specialist for SPARK Programs and serves as the Secretary for the Oregon Society of Health and Physical Educators.
