Health and Wellness Academic Department
The Department of Health and Wellness offers diverse and flexible programs designed to help students live-and teach others how to live-healthier, more balanced and meaningful lives. The curriculum for the major (Bachelor of Science degree) or minor in Health and Wellness Promotion emphasizes multi-level programs aimed at the promotion of wellness throughout a lifetime. Students may pursue careers in worksite wellness, hospital-based wellness programs, community health centers, retirement and nursing home wellness programs, commercial and not-for-profit health, fitness, and recreation centers, and other related areas. Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is an award-winning, internationally-acclaimed learning community dedicated to promoting lifelong learning, leadership, community service, and research. We opened our doors in 1988 as a department of the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Our goal is to enable our members to “thrive” in life’s second half.
