Our work to strengthen community health assessments (CHAs) across WNC was recently featured in the Citizen-Times! If you’re local (live in the 16 most western counties in NC), complete the linked survey to share your experiences and influence our health priorities for the next three years!

“There are many ways to engage in the process,” she said, including following public health departments on social media and looking for surveys, community meetings and volunteer opportunities.

Data that’s collected during the assessment gives a broad look at health, including demographics, socioeconomics, health status, health disparities, health behavior, clinical care, physical environment and quality of life, said Stacy Wood, Buncombe County Health and Human Services spokeswoman.

That data helps BCHHS identify the priorities it will focus on the next three years, and the open-access survey that anyone can take expands awareness, access and facilitates a more accurate sample.”
