Sherrill Center Fitness Room and UNC Asheville Pool Hours of Operation

Student and faculty access to the fitness room and pool is free. Spouses of students or faculty members can join the fitness center for $50.00 per year.

Campus Walking Map

Walking around campus can be a great way to get some exercise. This campus walking map highlights the trails on campus.

Instructional Recreation Classes

Starting this fall, UNC Asheville will be offering a variety of 6-week instructional recreation classes in activities such as weight training, ballroom dance, and Tai Chi. Please visit the instructional recreation website to register for a class.

Group Fitness Classes

Free to the campus community, group fitness classes offer a variety of drop-in classes for every skill level. You can view class descriptions here.

Intramural Sports

The Intramural Sports program offers opportunities for UNC Asheville students, faculty, and staff to compete against each other in men's, women's and co-ed leagues. Participants with all skill levels are encouraged to participate in tournaments and special events in a wide variety of sports and activities such as volleyball and kickball. Outdoor Program

The UNC Asheville outdoor program offers a variety of recreation trips throughout the semester. In addition, they offer kayak roll sessions in the University pool on Wednesday evenings, rent gear for your next outdoor adventure, and team building activities for your student organization.

Sports Clubs

Sports clubs are student organizations that provide students the opportunity to connect with other students with similar athletic goals and interests. There are a number of sports clubs on campus for activities such as disc golf, running, and ultimate frisbee.

Bike Rentals and Repair

The UNC Asheville bike shop offers educational opportunities for students to learn to tune and repair their bicycles. It also rents mountain bikes for a small fee and commuter bikes free of charge.
