UNC Asheville Hosts Third Annual Health Fair at Kimmel Arena

UNC Asheville Health Fair LogoUNC Asheville will host its third annual Health Fair with exhibits from some 40 local health organizations and businesses, from 11 a.m-2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, on the Kimmel Arena concourse. The fair is free and open to the public, with free parking available in the Kimmel Arena parking deck.

The Health Fair will offer free chair massages, and will include participation by acupuncturists, chiropractic practitioners and specialists in sexual and reproductive health. Leading health care providers such as Mission Health Systems, and public health organizations focused on healthy weight and nutrition, including UNC Asheville’s North Carolina Center for Health & Wellness, will also participate.

This student-founded and run event will be led this year by Carolyn Bacchus, a UNC Asheville senior majoring in health and wellness. Says Bacchus, “My purpose is to let people experience what Western North Carolina has to offer in all dimensions of health and wellness. This year, our participants will be giving away more than $2,000 in free samples of services and products.  I want to invite everyone to come and enjoy the activities and the many health and wellness items being given away.”

For more information including a complete list of participants, please visit the Health Fair website at http://www.facebook.com/uncahealthfair, or call Carolyn Bacchus at 704/651-3509.
