Reeve Elected to National Society for Public Health Education Board of Trustees

Dr. Rebecca H. ReeveThe Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) today announces the election of 12 members to its 2011-12 Board of Trustees. The new board members will be inducted and begin their terms of office on October 29, 2011, at SOPHE’s 62nd Annual Meeting in Arlington, VA.

Kelli R. McCormack Brown, PhD, CHES, FASHA, FAAHE, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs & Professor, University of Florida, College of Health and Human Performance, will serve a three-year term as SOPHE President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President. Linda Forys, EdM, MCHES, Director, Office of Health Education and Promotion at the Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services in Houston, will join SOPHE’s Board and Executive Committee for a two-year term as Secretary. Also elected for two-year terms are Darigg C. Brown, PhD, MPH, of RTI International as Trustee, Membership & Leadership Development; Carl L. Hanson, PhD, MS, CHES, Brigham Young University as Trustee, Advocacy & Resolutions; Charles Kozel, PhD, MPH, MCHES, New Mexico State University as Trustee, Professional Preparation; Rebecca H. Reeve, PhD, CHES, University of North Carolina, Asheville as Trustee, 2013 Annual Meeting; Stacy Robison, MPH, CHES, CommunicateHealth, Inc. as Trustee, Communications; and Louise Villejo, MPH, CHES, MD Anderson Cancer Center as Trustee, Research & Ethics. Rachael Dombrowski, MPH, CHES, a doctoral candidate at the University of Illinois, Chicago, was re-elected for a one-year term as Student Trustee. David Brown, EdD, MA, CHES, Nicole Sisen, and Rhonda Payne, MPH, have been elected to serve on the Board by the SOPHE House of Delegates. The dozen new SOPHE Board members will join eight Trustees returning for another year of service.
